The Institute for Culturally Restorative Practices

The Institute for Culturally Restorative Practice is committed to supporting the development of culturally safe programs. Creating cultural safe environments requires a change in beliefs, attitudes, quality service improvement, values, and at times change to organizational culture and structure.

Customary care standards of program development

The Institute for Culturally Restorative Practice is committed to promoting Indigenous ways of knowing into service practices. In addition, the Institute is committed to providing culturally safe research practices in Indigenous communities. As such, the Institute’s tenets of research provide opportunities for communities to learn, develop, and implement customary care codes into their service practice. This does not mean the Institute defines the codes for you, but provides your community with an opportunity to define for yourself your own codes of service practice.
